'93-'94 Hip-Hop
Ok. Well, this might be a little excessive, but it seems necessary right now based on the fact that 90s hip-hop>>>>>>* so I'm posting it.
This was an era when a lot of amazing music was made, and then labels would shelve the artists efforts, or proper distribution was denied. So, while you hear albums like Midnight Marauders and Illmatic, there are others that didn't reach the ears of the masses.
O.C.'s Word...Life might be my favorite hip-hop album of all time. Released in 1994, it didn't see any sort of major financial support in terms of distribution or advertising, and as a result never became the critically acclaimed classic it probably could have been. I'm sure there are countless other albums like this. Basically the purpose of this thread is to try and find and post some of those albums so that I and anyone else can listen to them if they so choose.
I've made lists of every album I could find using my Google skills from 1993 and 1994. I'm sure there are plenty of missing albums though, so if you're trying to help the cause just post something you found that's not on the list, or something you know of off the top of your head. Also, if you have a good quality rip of one of the more rare albums listed feel free to post it. I'll be doing just that.
If this thread works out I might make another one for earlier years, but I figured this was a good starting point.
